The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, sent a cable of condolences to his brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the death of His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Obeidat, the former Jordanian Prime Minister, who passed away after a life full of giving and service to his country.

In his telegram, His Majesty expressed his profound sorrow and grief at the news, saying: “We have learned of the passing of His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Obeidat, former Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan – may God have mercy on him. We extend to Your Majesty and the family of the deceased our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy. We pray to God Almighty to grant him His abundant mercy and forgiveness, to admit him to His spacious Paradise, and to protect you from all harm. To God we belong, and to Him we shall return.” These words embody the depth of the brotherly feelings that the Saudi leadership holds for its brothers in Jordan, and their sharing in their grief at the loss of one of their loyal statesmen.

Ahmad Obeidat: A prominent political and national career
