The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince sent two telegrams of condolence to the King of Jordan on the death of former Prime Minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb, recalling his career and emphasizing the depth of Saudi-Jordanian relations.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent cables of condolence and sympathy to their brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the death of the former Jordanian Prime Minister, Engineer Ali Abu Al-Ragheb, who passed away after a long career in service to his country.

In his telegram, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed his profound sorrow and grief upon receiving the news of the deceased, saying: “We have learned of the passing of His Excellency Engineer Ali Abu Ragheb, former Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan – may God have mercy on him. We extend to Your Majesty and the family of the deceased our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy. We ask God Almighty to grant him His abundant mercy and forgiveness, to admit him to His spacious Paradise, and to protect you from all harm. To God we belong, and to Him we shall return.” These words embody the depth of the sincere brotherly feelings that the Saudi leadership holds for its brothers in Jordan.

For his part, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent a similar cable, in which he expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the King of Jordan and the family of the deceased, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on the deceased and grant him a place in Paradise, and to inspire his family with patience and solace, and to protect Jordan and its leadership from all harm.

The late Ali Abu al-Ragheb is a prominent figure in modern Jordanian political history, having served as Prime Minister and Minister of Defense between 2000 and 2003. His term gained special importance as it came at the beginning of the reign of King Abdullah II, during which he played a pivotal role in translating the royal visions for economic reform and modernizing the legislative and investment structure in the country.

Abu Ragheb, who had an engineering background, was known for his focus on economic liberalization and investment promotion.
