Saudi Interior Minister discusses security cooperation with Algerian President

At the direction of the Crown Prince, the Saudi Interior Minister met with the Algerian President in the capital, Algiers, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and developing joint security cooperation between the two countries.

In the context of strengthening the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, and based on the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, paid an official visit to the Algerian capital, where he met with His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, at the Presidential Palace.

Fraternal messages and confirmation of the depth of relations

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud began the meeting by conveying the greetings and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to the President of Algeria, along with their sincere wishes for the continued progress, prosperity, security, and stability of the brotherly Republic of Algeria, its government and people. This meeting reflected the Saudi leadership's commitment to ongoing communication with Arab brothers and to strengthening cooperation across various fields.

Security and strategic issues on the table for discussion

The meeting included a comprehensive review of the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, with a particular focus on existing security cooperation. These discussions come at a time when there is a growing need to coordinate joint security efforts to address contemporary challenges, including combating terrorism and organized crime, enhancing border security, and exchanging expertise and modern technologies in policing and security fields, thus contributing to strengthening the Arab national security system.
