Praise for the projects of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in Hadramawt

The Hadhramaut National Council appreciates the support of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen with a value of $1.9 billion, stressing its role in promoting stability and improving basic services.

The Secretary-General of the Hadhramaut National Council, Essam Al-Kathiri, affirmed that the package of development projects and initiatives announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a total funding of approximately $1.9 billion through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, constitutes a pivotal turning point in the path of restoring stability and improving living conditions in Yemen in general, and Hadhramaut Governorate in particular.

Strategic partnership to enhance infrastructure

Al-Kathiri explained that these projects are not merely financial support, but a genuine investment in the future of the Yemeni people, targeting vital sectors that directly impact citizens' daily needs. These sectors include health, education, energy, infrastructure, and water—fundamental pillars of any developmental progress. He noted that this approach reflects a precise understanding by the Saudi side of the priorities of the current phase in Yemen, where the infrastructure suffers from significant challenges requiring high-quality and sustainable interventions.

The historical role of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen

This support is an extension of the historical and pivotal role that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has played towards Yemen for decades, a role significantly strengthened through the establishment of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen. Since its inception, the program has implemented hundreds of projects across various Yemeni governorates, aiming to bridge the gap in basic services and create job opportunities, thereby contributing to economic growth. These initiatives are considered cornerstones in the efforts to transition from emergency humanitarian relief to sustainable development and institutional capacity building.

Hadhramaut: A model of stability and development

The Hadhramaut National Council emphasized that the governorate, with its geographical, economic, and human resources, represents a fertile ground for the success of these development projects. Local and community leaders in Hadhramaut view the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a strategic partner and a true supporter who has never hesitated to provide assistance in the most difficult circumstances. This new package of projects is expected to contribute to strengthening the security and stability that characterizes Hadhramaut, making it a model for other Yemeni governorates in how to leverage fraternal support to improve public services.

Fraternal messages and unconditional support

In closing, the Hadhramaut National Council expressed its deep appreciation for this generous support, conveying its sincere gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman. The Council affirmed that these sincere and fraternal stances reflect the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting the Yemeni people, transcending any narrow political considerations and prioritizing the well-being of the Yemeni citizen and the stability of the entire region.
