The Cabinet: Saudi Arabia is ready to cooperate with America to achieve a comprehensive agreement to end the war in Gaza

The Cabinet held its weekly meeting in Riyadh, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz , where the Council discussed a number of local and international issues, stressing the Kingdom’s continued pivotal role in achieving regional and international security and stability.

International recognition of National Day

At the beginning of the session, the Crown Prince expressed his gratitude to the leaders of brotherly and friendly nations for their sincere sentiments towards the Kingdom on the occasion of its 95th National Day . He affirmed that the stability and prosperity the country enjoys are the fruits of a long journey of construction and development, and a clear testament to the success of Saudi policies in achieving a balance between economic progress and the preservation of social stability.

Strengthening the partnership with Pakistan

The Council reviewed the results of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's , which included the signing of the Joint Strategic Defense Agreement, a significant step in strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries. This historic agreement reflects the strength of the relationship, rooted in the 1951 Treaty of Friendship , which established Pakistan as one of the Kingdom's closest strategic partners in Asia.

The stance on Washington's plan regarding Gaza

The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom's welcome of the US administration's announcement of President Donald Trump's to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, which included the reconstruction of the Strip and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid without restrictions. The Cabinet affirmed that Saudi Arabia is ready to cooperate with the United States to achieve a comprehensive agreement to end the war and implement a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, thereby contributing to strengthening efforts to achieve a two-state solution and ensuring the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Growing international support for Palestine

The Council noted the increasing number of countries that have recognized the State of Palestine, considering this a result of the Kingdom's intensive efforts in international forums. It affirmed that this trend reflects the growing international will to support the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to self-determination and embodies the success of Saudi policy in promoting global consensus on this issue.

Active participation in the United Nations

Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari explained that the Kingdom's participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly reflected Saudi Arabia's global standing. He noted that the Saudi presence was active in all meetings, emphasizing that Riyadh has become one of the most influential voices on issues of peace and justice and the promotion of international dialogue.

New diplomatic gains

The Cabinet praised the Kingdom’s election as a member of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency and as a member of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) , after it received 175 votes out of 184. It considered these achievements an expression of international confidence in the constructive Saudi role and an appreciation of its contributions to developing vital sectors and promoting global security and peace.

Environment and Sustainable Development

The Council commended the inclusion of the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve in UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme, considering it a confirmation of the Kingdom’s commitment to preserving its natural environments and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This global recognition reflects Saudi Arabia’s success in balancing biodiversity conservation with economic development.

Investing in infrastructure

The Council commended the outcomes of the Global Infrastructure Forum held in Riyadh, which saw broad international participation and witnessed the signing of memoranda of understanding and agreements that open new horizons for a sustainable future in this sector. The Council also approved the implementation of 122 environmental, water, and agricultural projects in the Eastern Province at a cost of SAR 28.8 billion, which will enhance environmental and water sustainability and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.

Council decisions

The Cabinet made a number of decisions, most notably:

  • The Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture is authorized to discuss with the Somali side a memorandum of understanding for environmental protection.
  • The Minister of Investment is authorized to sign an agreement to encourage and protect investments with Morocco.
  • The Minister of Education is authorized to discuss cooperation in health education, training and research with the Korean side.
  • The head of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence is authorized to sign a cooperation agreement with the ISESCO organization.
  • The Tourism Development Fund has joined as an associate member of the World Tourism Organization.
  • Issuing the necessary license for “Easy Bank” to conduct its business in the Kingdom.

Appointments and Promotions

The Council approved a series of appointments and promotions at the fourteenth and fifteenth ranks, which included the Ministries of Interior, National Guard, Media and Education, in addition to the regional emirates, reflecting the continued development of national competencies and the activation of the administrative leadership system.
