Riyadh-Washington Summit: A unified vision to enhance security and prosperity

This is a significant day in the course of Saudi-American relations, marking a turning point in the partnership that has played a key and pivotal role in achieving stability in the region for nine decades. The aim is to institutionalize these relations and establish a solid foundation for a sustainable future for decades to come, as the Kingdom seeks to strengthen its partnerships around the world

The Riyadh-Washington summit marked a pivotal day in the more than 90-year history of Saudi-American relations. The summit reaffirmed the strategic partnership between the two countries and strengthened cooperation in defense, nuclear energy, minerals, and artificial intelligence, serving the interests of security, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.

Leadership meeting and signing of vital agreements

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister, held a summit meeting with US President Donald Trump, during which they reviewed bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments. The summit also witnessed the signing of several strategic agreements that will contribute to strengthening economic, security, and defense cooperation between the two countries.

Partnership in peaceful nuclear energy

The completion of negotiations on nuclear cooperation marked a historic step at the Riyadh-Washington summit . The agreement will facilitate the transfer of peaceful nuclear technology to the Kingdom and open the door for American companies to participate in major projects within Saudi Arabia, creating high-quality jobs and attracting significant investments.

The agreement also comes in line with the Strategic Economic Partnership document signed by the Crown Prince and President Trump in May 2025.

Massive cooperation in critical metals supply chains

The two sides signed a strategic framework for securing uranium and critical mineral supply chains. This cooperation aims to build a secure and reliable system for the minerals upon which the global economy depends.

The Kingdom has witnessed significant growth in its mineral wealth, exceeding $2.5 trillion, as a result of new discoveries of rare and critical minerals. Saudi Arabia plans to become a global hub for rare earth processing and the production of permanent magnets.

Strategic partnership in artificial intelligence

The Saudi-American partnership in artificial intelligence is a crucial pillar in building a sophisticated digital economy. The partnership is based on:

  • Leveraging the Kingdom's leadership in the energy sector
  • Abundant land needed to build data centers
  • There are more than 400,000 Saudi digital talents
  • Developing massive language models in Arabic
  • Supporting Saudi entrepreneurs and technology companies
  • Creating thousands of jobs and joint training programs

This collaboration has contributed to making the Kingdom the fastest growing digital economy in the region, with its size reaching $132 billion in 2024 compared to $79 billion in 2018.

Strategic Defense Agreement

The summit reinforced the signing of the Strategic Defense Agreement, which represents a qualitative leap in military relations between the two countries. The agreement affirms that Saudi Arabia and the United States are working as security allies to confront shared challenges.

The agreement focuses on:

  • Strengthening strategic deterrence
  • Supporting the development of Saudi military industries
  • Raising the readiness of the armed forces
  • Creating job opportunities through military manufacturing projects
  • Deepening defense coordination without targeting any country

The agreement comes as a continuation of security relations that have extended for more than nine decades.
