This field visit by His Royal Highness the Prince of Al-Ula comes at a time when the Al-Ula Governorate is witnessing unprecedented historical transformations. His Highness reviewed the progress of a range of development and service projects aimed at serving the governorate's residents and visitors. This visit is of particular importance given the strategic position Al-Ula has attained within the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, having transformed from a mere heritage governorate into a global tourist and cultural destination, thanks to the direct patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate.
During the visit, Prince Salman bin Sultan affirmed that Al-Ula has become a "cultural gem" attracting global attention, noting that this qualitative transformation is an exceptional achievement made possible by God's grace and the generous support and diligent follow-up of the leadership. His Highness explained that Al-Ula's historical significance, spanning thousands of years, would not have been revealed to the world in such a distinguished manner were it not for the insightful vision that recognized this heritage as deserving of being a global showcase highlighting the depth and enduring roots of human civilization in the Kingdom.
On the administrative and organizational front, His Royal Highness the Prince of the region chaired the local council meeting at the governorate headquarters, in the presence of Governor Rashid bin Hamad Al-Qahtani and officials from government agencies. During the meeting, comprehensive performance reports for existing projects were reviewed, and future needs to ensure sustainable development were discussed. The council focused its deliberations on activating the "Quality of Life" programs, one of the most important programs of the Vision, which aims to improve the lifestyle of individuals and families and build a society where its members enjoy a balanced lifestyle. This is achieved by creating the necessary environment to support and develop new options that enhance the participation of citizens and residents in cultural, recreational, and sporting activities.
In a scene reflecting the unity between the leadership and the people, His Highness met with a group of citizens and directors of government departments. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Qadi delivered a speech on behalf of the residents, expressing their pride and honor at this auspicious visit, emphasizing that it demonstrates the "open door" approach and close connection with the citizens that characterizes the Saudi leadership. He noted that the urban and economic development witnessed in Al-Ula has positively impacted job opportunities and commercial activity, thus enhancing the stability and prosperity of the region.
Prince Salman bin Sultan concluded his visit by thanking all employees in the government sectors and the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, appreciating their efforts that have combined to create the bright image of the governorate today, asking God Almighty to perpetuate the blessings of security, safety and prosperity on the Kingdom under its wise leadership.
