His Royal Highness Prince Rakan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Diriyah, received a large number of well-wishers at the Governorate headquarters yesterday. They came to offer their congratulations on the issuance of the Royal Decree appointing him Governor of Diriyah. The reception was attended by a distinguished group of senior officials and dignitaries, including His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Abdullah bin Turki, Deputy Governor of Al-Baha Region, and His Excellency Mr. Assaf bin Salem Abu Thnein, Advisor at the Royal Court, as well as a number of scholars, heads of centers, representatives of government and security sectors, and a large gathering of residents of the Governorate.

At the outset of his remarks during the reception, Prince Rakan bin Salman expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister – may God protect them both – for the precious royal trust bestowed upon him. His Highness prayed to God Almighty that he may live up to the leadership's expectations and that He may grant him strength and success in serving his religion, his King, and his country, and in working diligently to fulfill the aspirations of the rulers of this cherished province.
Diriyah: A historical symbol and a deep cultural heritage
The appointment of Prince Rakan bin Salman as Governor of Diriyah comes at a time when the city is receiving exceptional attention, given its rich historical significance as the capital of the first Saudi state and the starting point of its founding. The Diriyah Governorate is currently experiencing an unprecedented development boom under the direct supervision of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is leading the Diriyah Gate Development Project to transform it into one of the world's most important tourist, cultural, and heritage destinations. During a reception for well-wishers, the Governor of Diriyah emphasized his commitment to keeping pace with this qualitative leap and supporting the comprehensive development underway in the governorate across all sectors, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places Diriyah at the heart of its major projects.
