In a move reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to developing its higher education and scientific research system, His Royal Highness Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz chaired the annual meeting of the Honorary Council of Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University. The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of leaders and dignitaries, including His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Vice Chairman of the Honorary Council, and His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of the Al-Bayan Charitable Society for Education. Also present were the Minister of Education, Yousef Al-Bunyan, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, and the President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi.

Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz opened the meeting with a comprehensive address, expressing his appreciation for the generous patronage and unwavering support that the education sector receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister. His Highness emphasized that this leadership attention forms the cornerstone for building a promising generation of future leaders, equipped with knowledge and skills, and capable of actively contributing to achieving the goals of comprehensive national development and building the nation's progress.
Academic achievements and international accreditations
During the meeting, the Assistant Chairman of the Honorary Board, Qais Julaidan, presented a comprehensive report on the university's activities. This was followed by a detailed presentation from the university president, Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Hajjar, highlighting the university's educational and research progress. Among the most celebrated achievements was the accreditation of the College of Engineering and the College of Computer Science and Cyber Sciences by the international academic accreditation body ABET. This accreditation is a significant indicator of the quality of educational outcomes and their alignment with international standards, enhancing graduates' prospects in the local and global job markets and reaffirming the university's commitment to providing a high-quality education comparable to the world's leading universities.

The meeting was not limited to traditional academic aspects, but extended to include a review of the achievements of the “Prince Faisal bin Salman Chair for Humanizing Cities”, a qualitative initiative that is in line with the quality of life and humanizing cities programs that the Kingdom pays special attention to within Vision 2030. The meeting also witnessed the presentation of an honorary doctorate to Prince Turki bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, from the American University in Switzerland (AUS), in recognition of his efforts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, and in confirmation of the university's commitment to embracing global best practices, a series of international agreements were signed with prestigious universities worldwide.
