Mohammed bin Salman receives the Crown Prince of Bahrain in Diriyah to enhance cooperation

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received his Bahraini counterpart in Diriyah. They held strategic talks to strengthen historical ties and discuss issues of mutual interest between the two kingdoms.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received in Diriyah today His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in a fraternal meeting that embodies the deep and strong ties between the two leaderships and the two brotherly peoples.

During the reception, the deep-rooted historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain were reviewed, and promising opportunities for bilateral cooperation in various political, economic and security fields were discussed, in addition to discussing a number of topics of common interest and developments in the regional and international arenas.

High-level attendance reflects the importance of the talks

The meeting was attended by high-level representatives from both sides, reflecting the great importance that both leaderships attach to areas of joint cooperation. From the Saudi side, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, and His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, were present. Also participating in the reception were His Excellency Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, and National Security Advisor; His Excellency Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance; and His Excellency Nayef Al-Sudairi, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

On the Bahraini side, the following were present: Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister; Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior; Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court; Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; Hamad Faisal Al Maliki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; and Sheikh Ali bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom.

The depth of historical relations and the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council

This visit comes within the framework of ongoing communication between the leaderships of the two countries, and as a continuation of the long history of cooperation that culminated in the establishment of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council. This council serves as an institutional framework for organizing and developing relations, striving to enhance coordination in all fields, thus serving the interests of both countries and strengthening the joint Gulf Cooperation Council framework. Saudi-Bahraini relations are characterized by a unique nature based on shared destiny, geographical proximity, and deep social ties that bind families and tribes in both countries.

Integration of economic visions and regional stability

This meeting is of particular importance given the economic transformations underway in the region, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 share many objectives, especially in diversifying income sources, attracting investments, and developing infrastructure and tourism. Furthermore, the choice of Diriyah as the venue for the meeting reflects profound symbolic and cultural significance, linking the authenticity of the past with the aspirations of the future.

On a regional level, these bilateral meetings contribute to strengthening the security and stability of the Arabian Gulf region and unifying political positions towards current challenges, which confirms the pivotal role played by Riyadh and Manama in maintaining the strategic balance in the region.
