The Minister of Interior inaugurates border guard projects in Al-Jawf

In a move reflecting the ongoing commitment to developing the security system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, inaugurated today (Wednesday) a package of high-quality development projects for the Border Guard sector in the Al-Jawf region. The inauguration ceremony was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jawf region, and included the opening of eight specialized rapid response centers, in addition to launching a unique initiative to preserve historical sites in border areas.

This step comes within a strategic framework aimed at strengthening security control over the Kingdom's northern borders, as the Al-Jawf region is a vital gateway requiring a high level of preparedness. The eight newly established rapid response centers contribute to reducing response times to security reports and incidents, thereby enhancing the efficiency of field operations in countering any infiltration or smuggling attempts and ensuring the protection of the nation's resources and achievements in this important geographical area.

In a gesture linking the present to the rich past, the inauguration included an initiative to rehabilitate the historic Abu Talha Center in the Al-Jawf region. This initiative is significant as it embodies the wise leadership's commitment to preserving national heritage, given that the old border guard posts played a pivotal role in unifying the Kingdom and protecting its borders since the founding of the state. Transforming these sites into landmarks of cultural significance is a step towards documenting the sacrifices and efforts made by security personnel over the decades.

During the tour, His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior listened to a detailed explanation from the Director General of the Border Guard, Major General Shaye bin Salem Al-Wadaani, regarding the operational benefits of these projects. These benefits extend beyond security to include improving the quality of life for personnel in the sector and providing a stimulating work environment that aligns with the technological and infrastructural developments taking place within the Ministry of Interior. The new system utilizes the latest border surveillance technologies, thereby enhancing operational readiness around the clock.

At the conclusion of the inauguration ceremony, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud affirmed that the security development process continues with the unlimited support of the wise leadership, stressing that enhancing field readiness is a fundamental pillar in supporting the comprehensive development process that the Kingdom is experiencing in accordance with Vision 2030. The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Al-Jawf Region, Prince Mutaib bin Mishaal bin Badr bin Saud, and a number of security leaders and senior officials.
