The Minister of Justice inaugurates the Higher Diploma in Civil Law to strengthen the judicial system
Minister of Justice Dr. Walid Al-Samaani launched Program for Civil Law , which is implemented by the Judicial Training Center and targets all judges of courts at various levels, in addition to lawyers, as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to develop judicial work and raise the efficiency of judicial personnel.
Legislative renaissance led by the Crown Prince
The minister explained that the program comes in line with what the Kingdom is witnessing in terms of an integrated legislative renaissance led by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman , which aims to preserve rights, consolidate the principles of justice and transparency, and enhance the predictability of judicial rulings in order to achieve more consistency and reliability in the justice system.
Diploma objectives and scientific content
The Higher Diploma in Civil Law focuses on consolidating the principles and general rules of civil law, and enabling judges to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to apply the civil transactions system accurately and efficiently, thereby contributing to raising the quality of judgments and ensuring their consistency with regulatory texts.
The program includes 21 courses distributed across three main sections; the first section deals with the general principles and theories of civil law, while the second section focuses on the detailed provisions of contracts and rights, while the third section deals with the procedural regulations governing the course of civil litigation.
Developing judicial competencies
The diploma program is offered through the Judicial Training Center , the body responsible for legal qualification and training, which contributes to developing the judicial system and enhancing the efficiency of its personnel through high-quality training programs and accredited professional standards. This project is an extension of the Ministry of Justice's efforts to support the institutional and professional development of judges, lawyers, and legal researchers.
