Strengthening Saudi-Syrian cooperation in security fields
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Syrian Arab Republic, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Minister of Interior, held an important meeting in Riyadh with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. This meeting, held at the direction of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, reflects the Saudi leadership's commitment to enhancing cooperation and coordination across various fields, particularly security.
Saudi-Syrian relations
Relations between Saudi Arabia and Syria date back decades, marked by periods of both cooperation and tension. Currently, through these meetings, the Kingdom seeks to rebuild bridges of trust and joint action to address regional challenges.
Review of security cooperation
During the meeting, bilateral relations were reviewed, and aspects of cooperation in security fields were discussed in a way that serves the interests of both countries. A number of topics of common interest related to security and regional coordination were also discussed.
Attendance at the meeting
The meeting was attended by a number of high-ranking officials from both sides. From the Saudi side, those present included the Head of State Security, Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Howairini; the Head of General Intelligence, Khalid Ali bin Abdullah Al-Humaidan; and an advisor at the Royal Court, Khalid Farid Hadrawi, in addition to the Director General of Legal Affairs and International Cooperation, Ahmed Suleiman Al-Issa. From the Syrian side, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Al-Shaibani, was in attendance.

This meeting reflects the Kingdom's desire to enhance regional stability through cooperation with Syria in security matters. These efforts are part of Saudi Arabia's strategy to achieve regional and international security by building strong and lasting partnerships with neighboring countries.
