Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Dr. Abdul Latif Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, revealed that 60,000 citizens (male and female) have been recruited over the past four years. Al-Sheikh witnessed the signing of the final eight employment contracts, emphasizing during the ceremony that the National Employment Initiative's achievement is the largest in the ministry's history and reflects the unlimited support it receives from the leadership.
He expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for the continuous support the Ministry of Islamic Affairs receives in carrying out its noble mission. He pointed out that the completion of the employment of male and female citizens is a historic achievement that reflects the leadership's interest and support in empowering national talents to serve the houses of God and achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in employing human resources to fill suitable jobs for the sons and daughters of the nation. He explained that the employment processes included imams and muezzins, male and female preachers, male and female supervisors, and male and female security guards. He noted that the employment initiative was launched in 1441 AH after preparations and the employment processes were suspended for a year due to the circumstances of the Corona pandemic in accordance with precautionary measures. During 4 years of actual work, the number of those employed reached 60,000 male and female citizens in the Ministry's headquarters and its branches, which contributes to raising the level of services provided in the field of caring for the houses of God and calling to it, in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which is led by the architect of the vision of goodness and giving, the Crown Prince, who is racing against time for the advancement of the nation and the well-being of the citizen.
Achieving employment targets
Al-Sheikh added that the distribution of employment across the Kingdom's regions was based on the actual needs of each region, as estimated by the Ministry's regional branches, and is as follows: Riyadh Region: 11,368; Makkah Region: 10,087; Madinah Region: 4,290; Jazan Region: 5,351; Asir Region: 7,679; Qassim Region: 5,805; Eastern Region: 3,038; Al-Baha Region: 2,287; Tabuk Region: 1,959; Northern Borders Region: 1,583; Hail Region: 3,072; Al-Jawf Region: 2,525; and Najran Region: 956. He added that specialized training programs have been implemented for newly appointed employees since their appointment to enhance performance efficiency, develop skills, and improve the quality of services. Furthermore, technological initiatives have been launched to strengthen governance and oversight and improve the quality of services provided to beneficiaries and worshippers in mosques throughout the Kingdom.
Minister Al-Sheikh thanked the working committees that worked for four years in the ministry and its branches to select male and female applicants according to a precise framework that ensures the integrity of the procedures followed to select competencies and achieves the employment targets to achieve the lofty mission and goals in coordination with the relevant authorities.
